- Parivartan Chintan–I ( PC I). “Parivartan Chintan”, a pioneering Tri-Services Conference aimed at generating novel ideas, initiatives and reforms to propel Jointness and Integration efforts, was conducted on 08 Apr 24. The conference was presided over by the Chief of Defence Staff with the Heads of Tri Services Organisations and Commandants of Armed Forces Training Institutes in attendance. During the conference, requisite steps towards creation and operationalization of joint structures were debated and discussed with firm action plans being formulated to further the objective of Tri Service Integration. Brainstorming was undertaken on Jointness & Joint Culture, Integration (including common online apps), reforms, eradication of legacy practices and National Strategic issues. Implementable ideas to bring about jointness in all these fields were discussed. This phase addressed the various challenges on the road to true integration. Officers from varied service brackets, through their diverse understanding and experience, discussed and recommended measures to achieve the desired “Joint and Integrated” end state with clarity.
- Parivartan Chintan-II ( PC II). Post the success of PC -I initiative, Parivartan Chintan II was planned, with the various standing sub-committees, to get a status update and to deliberate upon the challenges being faced in achieving said goals.“Parivartan Chintan 2.0”, was conducted on May 9 & 10, 2024, with members of the various sub-committees of the Chiefs of Staff Committee, which included reps from the Service Head Quarters as well as Head Quarters Integrated Defence Staff. Brainstorming on generating new ideas was also undertaken. Policy level decisions to overcome present and anticipated road blocks were given and specific tasking was allocated to various agencies.
- Future Warfare Course. The Pilot Future Warfare Course was conducted under the aegis of TF1 & NA Dte, DOT Branch, HQ IDS from 23-27 Sep 24. The aim of the course which intended to enable the Armed Forces to stay ahead of the evolving nature and character of warfare, was to provide a common foundation for tenets of future warfare with special focus on implications of emerging and niche technologies. By providing Armed Forces personnel a comprehensive understanding of emerging trends, technologies and strategies, this course enhanced their strategic understanding, adaptability, cognitive skills and ability to integrate concepts and technologies effectively. This will ultimately improve the overall effectiveness of military operations and enhance the ability of the armed forces to achieve their objectives in the face of uncertainty. 30 officers (Army-14, Navy-08, IAF-08) of three services attended the course. Post success of the pilot course, the second course on Future Warfare has been planned for a duration of three weeks in the month of Apr 25.
- RAN SAMVAD 2025 - Conversations on War, Warfare and Warfighting A Tri-Services Seminar RAN SAMVAD: 2025 is being curated by the Indian Armed Forces conceptualizing a non-traditional model for Conversations on War, Warfare and Warfighting wherein speakers at the seminar will be serving offrs from Tri-services with requisite domain expertise. The aim of this event is to provide a vibrant platform for the actual practitioners of warfare to present their views and discuss nuances contextual / topical military issues. The Govt functionaries, academia, think tanks, industry partners, CAPF, veterans and R&D representatives amongst others will be the audience at the seminar.
